I tasted the top four Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars - This is how they ranked
*Note: This post was not sponsored or endorsed by Nature’s Bakery - it’s simply a post to share good snack options :)
Looking to add healthier snacks into your routine? I feel like that’s something everyone is aiming for, right?! So, I wanted to share a classic, but sometimes forgotten, snack option made with essential whole grains, packed with fiber, naturally colored, and made from real fruit….Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars.😊
These bars are a great on-the-go snack that provide your body with natural fruit sugars and grains to fuel you through your day. They’re energy-packed, easy to carry, and come in a range of flavors to satisfy any taste preference.
Plus, the whole grains and fiber leave you feeling fuller longer—helping reduce cravings throughout the day. And here’s a fun bonus: the thick, cake-like texture leaves you a bit thirsty after each bite, which encourages you to drink more water during your quick snack break = hydration 😊
Top Pro: High Fiber Content
One of the best things about Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars is their fiber content. Just one twin-pack gives you 3 grams of fiber—that’s 11% of your daily recommended value.
Fiber keeps your digestive system regular and supports the growth of healthy gut bacteria, which helps you feel the best you can. It also slows the absorption of sugar and helps your body use it as fuel, rather than storing it as fat. So not only do you get energy, but you get balanced energy from high fiber snacks like Nature’s Bakery fig bars.
Top Con: Sugar Content
Okay first off—don’t panic when you see that one twin-pack contains 28% of your daily added sugar.
Most of that sugar comes from natural sources like fig paste and fruit. Yes, cane sugar is added, but it’s balanced with brown rice syrup, which breaks down slower in your system as well as the natural fruit additions to this snack. Thanks to the fiber, your body can regulate how the sugar enters your bloodstream, providing energy without the crash when you enjoy any of Nature’s Bakery fig bars.
It’s still a sweet snack, but a more thoughtful one. Filled with what the body actually needs.
Nature’s Bakery Fig Bar Flavors
Here are the available fig bar flavors:
Original Fig
Strawberry
Raspberry
Blueberry
Apple Cinnamon
Pumpkin Spice
Peach Apricot
Flavors I Taste-Tested For This Post
For this post, I taste-tested the most accessible, classic flavors that you're likely to find on almost any store shelf. I intentionally excluded one major fan favorite—Strawberry—because we all know it’s a top choice. It’s also my personal favorite, so this one doesn’t need to be tested - it already comes in at the top of the list!
Flavors I Tested:
Original Fig
Raspberry
Blueberry
Apple Cinnamon
Flavors I Excluded (and Why):
Strawberry – Everyone’s #1 favorite; I didn’t think it needed a review
Pumpkin Spice – Seasonal and difficult to find
Peach Apricot – Also hard to find and not a core flavor
Flavor Rankings: From Least to Most Favorite
4. Raspberry
Coming in fourth – the Nature’s Bakery Raspberry Fig Bar is a mouthful of tanginess and tartness, wrapped up in the warm grain exterior. The pungent notes of raspberry make this bar less sweet than its other fig bar friends.
I loved the bright mouthfuls this bar brought into every chewy bite, but unfortunately, the bar didn’t scream “raspberry” enough to me.
The flavors were muted and blended into the pastry-like grains in the covering—meaning if you asked me what flavor this bar was, I wouldn’t be able to tell you unless you gave me options to choose from. And even then, hopefully, I would guess correctly: Raspberry.
It was a good bite of food, but between the unbalanced ratio of filling to grain exterior and the drier texture, this was my least favorite flavor. Still yummy—but not something I would go to first when grabbing for a fig bar.
3. Apple Cinnamon
Coming in third – the Nature’s Bakery Apple Cinnamon Fig Bar is a warm, spiced, delicious little snack. The green apples add a crisp, tart contrast to the filling, which is already full of earthy cinnamon notes. This paired nicely with the exterior—an oat- and wheat-focused coating.
But after a couple of bites, the flavors start to blend, and the bar tasted the same from there on out. I thought the Apple Cinnamon option was yummy and a perfect grab-and-go snack for those fall-to-summer days: hiking, playing soccer, or just walking down streets lined with bright fall leaves.
I liked this fig bar option, but its flavors are on the lighter side. Plus, it feels more like a seasonal treat in my opinion, which is why it came in third place for this taste-testing session.
2. Original Fig
Coming in second – the Nature’s Bakery Original Fig Bar is a rich, robust, chewy grain bar that leaves you a little surprised after your first bite. The fig filling is hard to describe, but in a way, it resembles the strong, natural flavors you find in both honey and molasses—coating your mouth with soft notes of the harvest season.
The filling also has intense caramel notes that pair wonderfully with the tiny fig seeds, which add a bit of crunch to the filling in the bars overall soft texture.
I think we’re so used to tasting flavors like apple, strawberry, and blueberry, but the Original Fig Bar is different. It’s warm, comforting, and delicious in its own way. I will say, sometimes it can be a bit too strong and sweet for me when I’m just looking for a quick, energy-packed snack. So, it lands in second place—because it’s one of those yummy, decadent fig bars you enjoy every once in a while, but not necessarily as your everyday go-to snack.
1. Blueberry
My top pick? Blueberry!
Coming in first – Nature’s Bakery Blueberry Fig Bar is a blueberry-flavored, packed-goodie! The bar was the most tender and moist, and the juicy flavor from the perfectly recognizable blueberry filling made for enjoyable bites throughout.
Between the smoothness of the blueberry jam, the nutty grain exterior pairing perfectly without overpowering it, and the soft oat/wheat coating—this bar was super delicious and well-balanced.
It isn’t too rich, not too sweet, and not too dry—meaning this is one of those bars I’d love to always have in my bag for a quick, energy-boosting snack. Each bite is flavorful, fresh, and has a great texture. This one takes the top spot for being the most balanced and the one I’d eat on a regular basis because of those well-rounded flavors coming through every time you bite into a bar.
Final Fig Bar Thoughts
After all the taste testing, Blueberry came out as the clear winner! I loved the flavor and the balance this bar brings when you bite into it.
To me, Strawberry is also one of those fig bar flavors that's well balanced — from the coating to the filling ratio — which is why it’s a fan favorite! If you haven’t tried Nature’s Bakery fig bars, give them a try — and maybe start with Blueberry if you’re not sure where to begin 😊 Strawberry’s great too!
And if you’re adventurous, try them all! They’re a great grain- and fruit-rich snack that will leave you satisfied and feeling your best after each bite.
Because when you fuel your body with the right foods and snacks, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to — it’s true 😊
