I love hummus! It’s one of those snacks that’s perfect to store in the fridge, grab on the go, and enjoy with soft pita or naan bread—or crispy, buttery crackers. It’s a great snack loaded with healthy fats, protein, and crave-worthy, robust flavors. That means it not only tastes amazing, but it also offers all the health benefits that most highly processed snacks completely lack.

I don’t know about you, but lately I’ve been loving the natural hummus containers from the store. They’re so convenient to buy, eat, and enjoy. But let’s be honest—they're still loaded with preservatives and often made with a range of oils rather than just plain extra virgin olive oil. So, I wanted to make a hummus that uses pantry staples, is super quick to whip up, and only includes whole, natural ingredients that punch you in the face with all the health benefits hummus has to offer—so you can feel like a million bucks (because you are 😊).

When it came to creating this recipe, I wanted to focus on a version that could be blended together in about five minutes. My goal was to keep all the creaminess you get from those recipes that require boiling and peeling chickpeas for silky-smooth hummus—but without the extra time and effort. I also wanted to let the blender do all the work and still get that dreamy, luscious hummus texture. The result? A rich, creamy hummus so quick and easy, you can be eating it within minutes of starting the cooking process 😊

Why is this hummus so good?

  • Nutrient-Packed: This recipe takes the chickpeas straight from the can and into the blender. That means no boiling or peeling—so none of the fiber and antioxidants (perfectly found in the skins) are removed. More of those precious nutrients stay right where they belong: in every bite of this wonderfully creamy hummus. Plus, it’s quicker than other recipes that take longer and remove the good stuff!

  • Protein-Rich: My secret ingredient in any good hummus? Greek yogurt. Sounds crazy—but it’s actually a perfect match for both the flavor and the health benefits hummus already brings to the table. Greek yogurt adds an extra punch of creaminess and also sneaks in even more protein, on top of the protein already packed into the chickpeas/ white beans and tahini this hummus is loaded with.

  • Low-Sodium: Since high sodium contributes to a lot of chronic health issues - let’s be honest - less is always better. That’s why I love using a touch of grated Parmesan for saltiness, along with just a bit of sea salt (which brings out the salty flavor without needing a ton). As result you get a mellow, warm, slightly salty hummus that pairs beautifully with crackers, pretzels, and breads—which tend to be salty enough on their own. It’s heart-healthy and still tastes amazing 😊

  • Stomach-Friendly: You know it—food can totally make or break how you feel. That’s why I love this recipe. All the ingredients are natural (no dyes, preservatives, or artificial anything), used in moderation for a balance and gentle flavor. And with the addition of Greek yogurt, you also get gut-friendly probiotics that help break down the proteins in the hummus. That means better digestion and a happier belly—even after snack time or a light meal - you leave your gut full of that good bacteria.

  • Simply Delicious: This hummus is simply yummy. It’s mellow, creamy, nutty, and completely natural. You get the perfect creaminess from the chickpeas, white beans, Greek yogurt, and tahini. Then there's the balanced saltiness from the Parmesan and sea salt, paired with the earthiness of cumin and the peppery notes of black pepper. It’s all rounded out by just a touch of garlic powder, a subtle tang from the lemon juice, and the buttery richness of extra virgin olive oil.

How to Store It

This hummus is perfect for meal prep! But because it contains Greek yogurt, it must be refrigerated. Store it in an airtight, refrigerator-safe container, and it’ll stay fresh for 5–7 days. That makes it a great addition to meals—or the perfect “sneak-a-spoonful” snack anytime you find yourself at the fridge 😊
